Even more guarantees of sustainability and quality for our production of wooden handles
We have already had the opportunity to talk about certifications regarding our wooden handles for tools: we wrote an article dedicated to FSC® certification in particular, as well as the recognition of Artisan Excellence by the Lombardy Region, which you can find on our blog.
However, we still haven’t talked about the new environmental and quality certifications recently obtained by Foppoli Bramin: PEFC and ISO 9001.

Where does the wood come from? PEFC CERTIFICATION
For those who, like us, produce wooden handles for tools, the origin of the raw materials is fundamental. As a matter of fact, when working with wood, we have to ensure that the origin of the material is certified and that the cutting operations do not destroy these important green areas.
In short – we can’t let anything slip by us!
In addition to the FSC® certification, which guarantees the origin of the material with the tracking of products and the responsible management of forests, we have also obtained PEFC certification.
PEFC stands for “Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes”. This is an international organisation that certifies companies, founded on a broad understanding of stakeholders in the implementation of sustainable forest management at national and regional level.
One of PEFC’s key objectives is to improve the image of forestry and the supply chain, consequently providing an instrument for the marketing of wood and forest products from sustainably managed forests and production areas.
The programme is always very active and up-to-date. Suffice it to say that, recently, the International PEFC Council decided to classify lumber from Russia and Belarus as war timber and lumber, following the adoption of the UN General Assembly Resolution.
We would also like to remind you that in order to minimize the environmental impact of our production of wooden handles, we have optimised our processes and introduced a principle of reuse of waste, which is reused for the production of clean fuel (because it is free of resins, glues and paints), odourless and offers noteworthy caloric power.
Quality certification: ISO 9001
ISO 9001 certainly needs no introduction.
As a matter of fact, this is most famous international organisation for standardisation (ISO) that defines the guidelines and requirements for the implementation of an internal system in the company’s quality management.
